Accreditation
From Learning and training wiki
ACCREDITATION |
Term related both to a status and a process. As a status, accreditation provides public and formal notification that an course or programme meets minimum requirements standards of quality set forth by an accrediting institution (universities, national / regional authorities, accrediting bodies). The programme / course is validated in relation to a number of credits (e.g. ECTS / ACE) by an accrediting body, which may facilitate similar recognition by other education / training institutions. As a process, it reflects the fact that, in achieving recognition by the accrediting agency, the institution or program is committed to meet standards and to continuously seek ways in which to enhance the quality of training / education provided.
