Education or training activities oriented to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to perform a job, an occupation, or a professional activity. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) refers to deliberate interventions to bring about learning which would make people more productive (or simply adequately productive) in designated areas of activity.

TVET will also apply to other forms of education (which are not unique to TVET), e.g. expert [[knowledge|knowledge]], [[skills|skills]] development, insights and mindsets which are considered to be generally valuable for learners of many areas of economic activity.
