{{Term|STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT|Refers to the participation of [[Stakeholder|stakeholders]] in one or more components of an [[Evaluation|evaluation]] process beyond simply providing information. By being involved, stakeholders contribute to important decisions regarding planning, implementation and use of the evaluation.


Stakeholder involvement in evaluation is important for two reasons:

# It enhances the usefulness of the evaluation process and the results thereof;
# It advances values related to equity, empowerment and social change within the evaluation context.(Greene:2005)	

		
If key stakeholders participate in determining the course of an evaluation, they are more likely to feel a sense of ownership of the process and hence more likely to find the evaluation useful and actually use the [[Result|results]] and [[Recommendation|recommendations]].<ref>Green C.
