Term2.png SCENARIO-BASED LEARNING
design in which an authentic scenario forms the basis of all learning, teaching, and assessment activities. The best scenarios are those that are extracted from real-life settings as they are likely to contain complexity that is needed to address the full range of skills and knowledge that need to be covered. The intent is to end up with a set of decisions or directions that would be most beneficial no matter how the situation unfolds. Scenarios confront students with a fictional context, based in real life circumstances, that requires them to participate in an imagined sequence of events in which they determine complex issues for which there are no clear outcomes. Scenario-based learning should include complexities, ambiguities, and contradictions which will offer several possible interpretations of the issues, giving the opportunity to students to apply knowledge and practice skills relevant to the situation.
