A person who teaches something. An instructor’s role is to guide participants through experiences to allow maximum chance for fulfilling individual, group, and program goals, in the learning environment. The instructor's responsibility is to use the program's established methodology to create a series of experiences which work together to initiate, maintain, and solidify the desired processes and outcomes. He is also responsible for the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of participants, and for arranging methods which give students maximal chance of achieving the program and personal goals. Skilful instructors are vital to the success of any adult learning programme. A dynamic, competent and experienced instructor, well-versed in adult learning principles and the art of teaching can help generate interest in learning and encourage and motivate adult learners to further improve themselves.
