Adaptive Testing
From Learning and training wiki
ADAPTIVE TESTING |
Method for administering tests that adapts to the examinee's ability level. For this reason, it has also been called tailored testing. As test takers respond to test items, the test "adapts" itself by selecting the next item to be presented on the basis of performance on preceding items. For example, if a test taker performs well on a set of intermediate-level questions, the computer will proceed to a set of advanced-level questions. If the test taker performs poorly on intermediate-level questions, the next question set will contain novice-level items. Testing stops when the performance at a given level is shown to be the test taker's highest sustainable performance. [1] |
