A centralized repository for information. As integral component of knowledge management, a knowledge base is used to optimize information collection and retrieval in an organization. Knowledge-Based Systems focuses on computer programs that use knowledge techniques to support human decision-making, learning and action. A knowledge-based system contains a database, a software program, and a user interface. [1]
