Term2.png ADVANCE ORGANIZER
Instructional strategy used both in oral presentations before introducing new material, and in books where a paragraph at the beginning of a unit or lesson reminds the learners of what they have already learned, so as to connect it with what they will learn in the next lesson. It should provide a bridge that links the known to the unknown, by including an abstract outline of the new information and restatement of old knowledge. This will encourage transfer and application of old knowledge, to make the new one more meaningful to the learner. [1]
