Term2.png EVALUATION STANDARDS
A set of criteria against which the completeness and quality of evaluation work can be assessed. The standards measure the utility, feasibility and propriety and accuracy of the evaluation. [1]

Evaluation standards must meet the following generally accepted criteria:

  1. Utility: seek to ensure that an evaluation will serve the information needs of intended users of the evaluation.
  2. Feasibility: seek to ensure that an evaluation will be carried out in a realistic, prudent, diplomatic, and frugal cost conscious manner.
  3. Propriety: seek to ensure that an evaluation is carried out in a legal and ethical manner and that the welfare of all stakeholders is given due attention.
  4. Accuracy: seek to ensure that an evaluation will reveal and convey technically adequate information about the features that determine the worth or merit of the programme or project being evaluated. [2][3][4]
