{{Term|SIMULATION|The imitation of the reality for studying the effect of changing parameters in a model as a means of preparing a decision. Simulation creates the appearance of being real, giving the experience of a real situation without risks. The act of simulating something generally entails representing certain key characteristics of a selected physical or abstract system. Simulations are also used to test new theories. After creating a [[Theory|theory]] of causal relationships, the theorist can codify the relationships in the form of a computer program, to see if the program behaves in the same way as the real process. The aim of a simulation is to conducting experiments for the purpose of understanding and evaluating various strategies, for the operation of a system.<ref> [http://www.eyefortransport.com www.eyefortransport.com], [http://www.uwex.edu/ics www.uwex.edu/ics], [http://en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org], [http://www.webopedia.com www.webopedia.com], [http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg www.comp.nus.edu.sg] (25 July 2008)</ref> }}

Methodology that consists in the imitation of a real system or process with the objective of exploring it and of understanding the interrelationships among its components, before implementing it in the real world. Simulation creates the appearance of being real, giving the experience of a real situation, without risks, since there is no consequence for the actions and everything can be undone and redone as many time as needed. With this methodology it is possible to provide an immersive learning experience that allows to compress the time and remove extraneous details. The learning occurs by studying the effects of change on one or more factors of the model. [1] See also: Simulation-Based Training, Role Play.
