Term2.png MENTORING
Structured, sustained process for supporting individuals through learning. It is a one-to-one relationship in which a senior member of an organization is assigned to support the development of a newer or more junior member by sharing knowledge, expertise, experience and wisdom. Mentoring may take place face-to-face, online or by blending modes of delivery. Learning objectives must be defined for this type of activity. Mentoring is normally more directive than coaching, with the mentor coming from a position of experience, authority or knowledge, while the coach’s ability is to facilitate and develop personal qualities.
